The City has announced that the Steinbach Aquatic Centre will be closed for its annual maintenance shutdown from September 5-17, 2017 and will then reopen on Monday, September 18, 2017.
The City notes that during the shutdown, every square inch of both public and employee space are scrubbed and disinfected. This includes the draining, cleaning, and refilling of all pools at the facility. Maintenance, inspections, and replacement of worn parts on the chlorine feed equipment and air handlers will also take place. The air handlers are units that provide heating, cooling, ventilation, humidification and dehumidification of the pool area, change rooms, and common areas.
Although the facility is not open during the scheduled maintenance period, Aquatic Centre staff can still be reached by phone at 204-346-6207, Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm.
