Selkirk RCMP recently responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at the corner of CIL Road and Highway 59 in the RM of St. Clements.

Police investigation determined that on May 9, 2018, a car was traveling north on Highway 59, attempting to turn onto CIL Road when it was struck by a southbound pickup truck. The occupants of the truck, a 48-year-old and 9-year old male, both from the RM of St. Clements, received minor injuries. The 38-year-old female driver of the car had three passengers – a 23-year-old female, a 10-year-old female and a 6-year-old male, all from Winnipeg. The 23-year-old female passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene. The remaining passengers were transported to hospital with serious injuries.

RCMP report that alcohol was not a factor in this collision and that all persons involved were wearing their seatbelts. The investigation is continuing with the assistance of an RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist.
