Clearview Co-op is expanding the products and services it brings to agricultural producers in southeast Manitoba.

The member-owned retailer is constructing a new Co-op Agro Centre that will be located north of Steinbach, a short drive away from the existing Co-op Cardlock on Highway 12.

“As a fuel and bulk lubricant supplier, Clearview Co-op has proudly served agricultural producers for generations, and we’re excited to build on that history with our new Co-op Agro Centre,” said Henry Nickel, General Manager of Clearview Co-op.

“With this new facility, Clearview Co-op will provide producers with the agricultural products they need, as well as the knowledge and expertise of an on-site agronomy team – all with the lifetime benefits of Co-op membership. With every purchase, our members will earn equity and opportunities for cash back, just as they always have.”

Construction of the Co-op Agro Centre site will be underway this fall. The completed facility is expected to open in time for spring 2019. Once the site is fully operational, Clearview Co-op will offer its farm customers the following services:

  • Agronomy: Comprehensive agronomic services, including crop planning, scouting and product recommendations, from a local agronomy team.
  • Fertilizer: A complete selection of granular products, including on-site blending from a state-of-the-art fertilizer plant.
  • Seed, seed treatments and inoculants: A range of seed products including canola, corn, bulk soybean, bulk cereal and forages, as well as an on-site seed-treating system.
  • Crop protection: A full suite of herbicides, fungicides and insecticides.
  • Grain storage and handling: Offering bins and augers as part of a system to move, store and monitor grain on farms of all sizes.

The new Co-op Agro Centre will employ between five to ten people. This is in additional to the 185 Clearview Co-op employees who are already serving Co-op members and customers. Today, Clearview Co-op operates 14 Gas Bars and Cardlock locations in southeast Manitoba and provides bulk fuel and lubricant services to members and customers in communities across the region.
