Week three of the RCMP Holiday Checkstop Program, from December 17-23, 2018, has resulted in 68 checkstops conducted across Manitoba with approximately 4,000 vehicles checked.

Results for the Checkstops include:

  • 21 people charged with Impaired Driving (Alcohol)
  • 2 people charged with Refusing a Breath Demand
  • The highest blood/alcohol reading reported was .220 (almost three times the legal limit)
  • 6 alcohol-related tiered suspensions
  • 1 drug-related tiered suspension
  • 12 people charged with improper storage of alcohol or cannabis in a vehicle

RCMP report that there were no fatal traffic-related collisions during this week.

Last year during week three, RCMP members conducted 42 checkstops, checked 1,906 vehicles, and charged 22 people with Criminal Code Impaired Driving offences.
