Steinbach’s Good ‘n’ Natural Health Food Store was recently presented a most prestigious award at the annual Canadian Health Food Association (CHFA) West Conference and Trade Show in Vancouver.

Good ‘n’ Natural was the winner of the Brock Elliott Memorial Award for excellence in retailing. Presented in memory of Brock Elliott, one of the pioneers of retailing in the natural health industry. Brock ran a charming successful store in Antigonish, N.S. until his passing in 2000. This award is given to a natural products retail operation for overall excellence by the association.

Good ‘n’ Natural was a finalist for the award, going head-to-head with Nature’s Fare Markets, a very successful group of family-owned stores based in BC’s Okanagan Valley. Nature’s Fare has stores in several cities in the Okanagan, as well as in the greater Vancouver area, and has won this award multiple times before.

“It might not be a ‘David vs Goliath’ scenario, but it is nice to see a store from a smaller urban centre take home this honour. Good ‘n’ Natural matches up against virtually any health food store in Canada,” said Bruce W. Cole, CNHR Magazine Editor/Publisher, Wyebridge, ON. “Dennis Schroeder, Leane Janz and the team are always striving to be better. They embrace change and technology. They are progressive. They know the importance of an educated staff. They update their store regularly to keep it fresh and new for customers. They seek out new and innovative products.”
