Stonewall RCMP are reporting that three suspects have been arrested in connection to a recent impaired driving incident that occurred in the RM of Rosser. Criminal Code charges are pending against the individuals.

On August 17, 2021, at approximately 7:55pm, Stonewall RCMP received a report of a possible impaired driver that had just left the gas bar located on Provincial Road (PR) 236 in the RM of Rosser. It was reported that the suspect vehicle was heading north.

Police were provided with a license plate of the suspect vehicle, which was identified as being stolen out of the City of Winnipeg. Patrols were made in the area and the suspect vehicle was located heading west on PR 221. A traffic stop was attempted, but the suspect vehicle refused to stop. Due to the high volume of vehicles currently in the area, officers chose not to pursue the vehicle as a safety precaution.

As police continued to search for the suspects, a report was received of suspicious people in the community of Rosser. RCMP then located the stolen vehicle ditched at a residence. It was believed that the suspects were now on foot.

Further reports of suspicious people continued to be received. As a result, officers learned that another vehicle had been stolen and was last seen heading west on PR 221. This vehicle was then was reported to have lost control and as a result, collided with a concrete post on a property located in the community of Rosser. At this point, the occupants exited the vehicle and fled on foot where they were apprehended by responding officers a short distance away.

RCMP report that the three occupants of the vehicle, a 26-year-old male and two females, ages of 36 and 17, were arrested and taken into police custody. Numerous Criminal Code charges pending.
