St. Pierre-Jolys RCMP are reporting that a 17-year-old male youth was recently arrested and charged after driving while intoxicated at St. Malo Provincial Park.
On June 13, 2025, at approximately 11pm, local park patrol officers had discovered a male driving dangerously while intoxicated. Subsequently, St. Pierre-Jolys RCMP were called in to assist. Officers attended immediately and discovered that the driver had already been detained by the patrol officers.
RCMP report that the driver, a 17-year-old male youth from Winnipeg, failed the approved screening device and was served with an immediate roadside suspension. Members noted that the youth was released on scene.
On June 14, 2025, at 12:55am, patrol officers again requested assistance from the RCMP regarding the same 17-year-old male. It was reported that the youth had assaulted two patrol officers.
Police say that the youth was arrested for assaulting a public officer and uttering threats. He was later taken in custody and released for a future court date.
