An 86-year-old Teulon man has recently died after the vehicle he was driving collided with a pickup truck in the Rural Municipality (RM) of Gimli, Manitoba.
On July 2, 2026, at 2:40pm, Gimli RCMP received a report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 8, at the intersection of Provincial Road 229, in the RM of Gimli.
Police responded to the scene with EMS and local Fire department. Upon arrival, they observed a sedan in the southwest ditch, heavily damaged, as well as a pickup truck with extensive damage to the front end on the Highway.
Officers learned that the sedan was traveling west on PR 229 when it collided with the southbound pickup truck on Highway 8.
RCMP report that the driver of the sedan, an 86-year-old male from Teulon, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the pickup, a 48-year-old male from Niverville, suffered from non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to hospital and later discharged.
