The City of Steinbach would like to advise local residents that McKenzie Avenue, from west of Giesbrecht Street to East of Grandview Drive, will be closed from December 7 through December 23, 2016. During this closure, Parkhill residents are asked to use Bushfarm Road to access the area.
The City notes that the closure is required for the developer to join two major sewer connections to the new Lexington subdivision. Excavation as deep as 16 feet is required, making it necessary to close McKenzie to ensure the public’s safety until the work has been completed. The sidewalk along McKenzie Avenue will remain open throughout construction.
All City departments, emergency services and local school divisions have been informed of the closure and the City of Steinbach appreciates residents’ patience and cooperation through this operation.
