The governments of Canada and Manitoba are investing $2.2 million in three agricultural research projects, to be conducted by Topigs Norsvin Canada (TN), that will enhance the competitiveness of Manitoba pork producers by improving the precision feeding of sows and promoting higher animal welfare standards.

Manitoba Agriculture and Resource Development advises that conservation officers are continuing enforcement to protect Manitoba’s natural resources, including compliance checks for fisheries, addressing illegal hunting, and increasing the number of officers in the field.

Pending Health Canada’s approval of the pediatric Pfizer vaccine and the National Advisory Council’s anticipated recommendation, Manitoba will be ready to roll out the next phase of the provincewide #ProtectMB vaccine campaign targeted at children ages five to 11.

The COVID-19 viral-vector vaccine Janssen will be available to those ages 18 and older by the end of this week. The vaccine will be available at some pharmacies and medical clinics. A third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine is now available to all adults with a minimum of six months after their last dose, with limited exceptions.
