A total of 279 warnings and 55 tickets were issued for the week of Dec. 28, 2020, to Jan. 3 including 49 $1,296 tickets to individuals for various offences and six tickets to individuals for failure to wear a mask in indoor public places.

Infrastructure Minister Ron Schuler, minister responsible for the Manitoba Emergency Measures Organization (EMO), announced that the Manitoba government is extending the provincewide state of emergency under the Emergency Measures Act to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 and protect Manitobans.

The RBC Convention Centre super site opened this morning. Thousands of appointments have been booked for Jan. 4 to 10 with second-dose appointments occurring Jan. 25 to 31. To date, about 4,500 first-dose appointments have been made and approximately 1,600 remain available.

Steinbach MLA and Education Minister Kelvin Goertzen, announced that the Manitoba Remote Learning Support Centre has officially launched with resources and staff available to help facilitate remote learning.

The Manitoba government continues to keep its promises and act on targets set out in the Manitoba Climate and Green Plan with the adoption of new blend requirements for ethanol in gasoline and for biodiesel in diesel, moving the province closer to meeting greenhouse-gas (GHG) reduction targets.

The Manitoba government is providing $5 million to the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce to develop a program that provides financial relief to dine-in restaurants that have been affected financially by the province moving to Critical (red) on the #RestartMB Pandemic Response System and resulting public health orders.

The RBC Convention Centre super site is preparing to open Jan. 4. Approximately 3,432 immunizations have been given since the vaccine arrived in Manitoba earlier this month.
