The current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 13.6 per cent provincially and 14.4 per cent in Winnipeg. As of 9:30am on December 6, 2020, 383 new cases of the virus have been identified. The total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 18,806.

The province is reminding the public of current health orders in place. The Manitoba government continues to work to protect citizens while at the same time allowing people to access essential goods and services.

However, two cases were removed due to a data correction bringing the total to 318 and the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 18,069.

However, one case was removed due to a data correction bringing the total to 367 and the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 17,750.

The Manitoba government has made significant progress to ensure the province is ready to launch a co-ordinated and effective vaccination campaign to protect its most at-risk citizens from COVID-19, Premier Brian Pallister announced today, noting these efforts will be further enhanced by the expansion of rapid testing initiatives including one specifically for teachers.

Steinbach MLA and Education Minister Kelvin Goertzen announced that the Manitoba government is furthering its commitment to protecting safe and healthy learning environments by mandating a two-week remote learning period for grade 7 to 12 students and offering the same remote learning period for kindergarten to Grade 6 students.
