On July 20, at approx 9:25am, Shoal Lake RCMP with the assistance of EMS attended to a two vehicle collision on Keeseekoowenin FN.

A 1986 Chev S10 pickup was traveling westbound on Bridge road when the driver, 29-year-old Jesse William Bone, proceeded to cross Highway 354 when he was struck by a southbound 1984 Chev Cutlass, being driven by 23-year-old Lane Wilson. A 3-year-old passenger in the Cutlass was taken to Shoal Lake Hospital then transferred to Winnipeg with a serious leg injury. The 3-year-old passenger was not in a proper child restraint. 
 
Both vehicles were not registered and both drivers did not have driver’s licences. Both men from the Keeseekoownin FN have been charged with driving without a licence and operating unregistered vehicles. Bone has been also charged with proceeding before safe to do so and Wilson has been charged with driving a motor vehicle when a child is improperly restrained. All charges are under the Manitoba Highway Traffic Act.
