A Manitoba summer tradition will continue as the province’s free family fishing weekend will be held this weekend, June 11 and 12.
The province’s recreational fishing season opens today in southern Manitoba and May 21 in other areas of the province to reflect later spawning.
Manitobans and visitors to the province are invited to drop a line in the water today and, in most places, a fishing license won’t be needed.
Manitoba’s angling season opens today across much of southern Manitoba, offering the opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors and go fishing in the many great lakes and streams across the province.

This coming weekend, June 14 and 15, a licence won’t be needed to fish in Manitoba and the provincial park entry fee is waived as well.
