A Manitoba fishing licence will not be required on June 9 and 10 to encourage families to enjoy a day on the water and get hooked on fishing.

The summer Family Fishing Weekend will be held June 11 and 12 this year, Water Stewardship Minister Christine Melnick announced.

Manitobans and visitors to the province will have the opportunity to enjoy Manitoba’s great outdoors and free fishing during the annual Family Fishing Weekend on June 12 and 13, Water Stewardship Minister Christine Melnick announced.

Manitobans and visitors will be able to take advantage of incredible opportunities to land walleye, northern pike, channel catfish, goldeye, white bass, lake trout and yellow perch as the angling season opens this month, Water Stewardship Minster Christine Melnick said today.
