A recognition ceremony took place yesterday at Steinbach’s City Hall to mark the Citys becoming a StormReady pilot community.

The City of Steinbach is very pleased with the progress of the sewer and watermain pipe replacement on Henry Street.

There was a “sea of yellow” at the 5th annual “Pick up and Walk” community clean up event this past Saturday in Steinbach, when over 1000 people in their bright yellow t-shirts picked up 5.47 tons of garbage from city streets, parks, side roads, open areas, ditches, boulevards, and even from culverts, equivalent to 3000 person/hours of labour.

Manitobans are turning in more e-waste for recycling each year since the launch of Manitoba’s first collection program in 2007, Conservation Minister Bill Blaikie announced.

On April 19, 2010, at approximately 9pm, members of the Steinbach RCMP responded to an ATV collision on Road 33 East in the RM of Hanover.

On April 15, 2010, two females entered the Shoppers Drug Mart on Main Street in Steinbach and removed several cosmetic items from the store, neglecting to pay for them.

A sod-turning ceremony took place today to mark the start of Steinbach’s Lagoon Expansion project – the largest capital works project ever to take place in Steinbach.

The 5th annual “Pick up and Walk” community clean-up event will take place Saturday, April 24, 2010, in Steinbach.
