On June 24, 2009 at around 5:00 PM the Steinbach RCMP Detachment received a report that a male subject armed with a bat, had entered the 1st Choice Convenience Store on Main Street in Steinbach and had robbed the store of several hundred dollars of cash.

At approximately 6:45 am on June 24, 2009, Steinbach RCMP received a call of a serious motor vehicle collision that occurred at the intersection of Highway 206 and 311.

The Mayor of Steinbach is encouraging all those employed in the downtown area to kickoff the festival weekend by walking or riding bike to work this Friday, June 19, 2009.
