Obituary

On Monday, October 22, 2018, Lawrence passed away peacefully at the Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Steinbach, MB, at the age of 79.

Lawrence was born and raised in Giroux, MB. He was a hard worker. Lawrence and his wife Rita owned and operated a dairy farm, and he took great pride in his work on the farm. He worked tirelessly for many hours. He enjoyed creating ways with his true farmer ingenuity to make the work easier.

Lawrence loved to take time to hunt, golf, play baseball and ride his motorcycle, but his passion was in snowmobile racing where he became the Manitoba Champion in Beausejour.

In his later years, Lawrence took up bowling with the senior league in Steinbach. He and his teammates won gold in the Canada 55+ games in Brampton, ON, gold in the Triples Team 55+ in Winnipeg, MB, and bronze in the Winnipeg Bowling Proprietors 55+.

Lawrence will be fondly remembered by his wife Rita Francois of 55 years, sons Evan & Joel Lacoste; daughter Kristine Lacoste-Rempel (John); grandchildren Tyler, Tasha and Tanner of Red Deer, AB, Stephanie Gauthier-Carrier, of Transcona, MB, Michael, Justine, Cameron, Trinity, Cassidy & Mason of Richer, MB, Chloe Rempel of Steinbach, MB, Stephanie and great-granddaughter Ava of Lethbridge, AB; his sister Doreen Cluett, and brother Rene.

Our sincere thanks to Dr. Dan Ilchyna for the care and concern he showed for Lawrence. The family would also like to thank the wonderful nursing staff of the health care team for their care and compassion. Their gentleness and respect to Lawrence and to the family was very much appreciated.

Cremation has already taken place.

The memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.
