It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gertruda Wiens (nee Harder). After a brief battle with cancer, Trudie, with her everlasting faith, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, knowing that she would be reunited with her parents and siblings who went before her.
Trudie leaves behind her devoted husband of 43 years, Johann, her sons Elmer (Sylvie) and Ewald; her daughter Amy (Jeff), as well as her four beloved grandchildren: Austin (11), Kairi (9), Tobi (5), and Jazmyn (3).
After working as a nurse, back in Paraguay where she was born, Trudie, along with her young family, moved to Niverville in 1983. Trudie worked various jobs over the years but her true passions were raising her kids, tending to her hobby farm, and volunteering with the CMC Ladies’ Mission.
While taken far too soon, mom will be fondly remembered as a strong, hardworking woman, with a kind and generous heart who lived for her family. A shy smile and an infectious laugh endeared mom to everyone. Those blessed to know her, knew she was special and that she left the world a better place for having lived in it.
