Obituary

Anne Krahn (nee Friesen), age 96 years, of Grunthal, MB., formerly of Steinbach, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 10, 2019, at the Grunthal Menno Home for the Aged.

Mom was born on December 15, 1922. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour and was baptized upon confession of her faith into the Chortitzer Mennonite Conference in 1942. On July 19, 1942, she married Jake Krahn. They shared 53 years of marriage together.

Anne was predeceased by her loving husband Jake in 1995, her sons Henry & Victor; her daughters Elvira & Martha; her son-in-law John Penner, one granddaughter Theresa, one great-grandson Joey, eight brothers, five sisters, and her parents John & Mary Friesen.

She will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters-in-law Annie Krahn and Betty Krahn-Armstrong (Jack), 12 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren and their families. She is also survived by a very special friend Sue Hiebert and a family friend Bobby Murray.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB., with viewing half an hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Heritage Cemetery, Steinbach, MB.

Special thanks to all the staff at the Grunthal Menno Home who cared for our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother for the last four years. We are humbled and grateful for your compassionate care.
