Obituary

Gabriel Cyriac Catellier, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, February 17, 2019, at DeSalaberry District Health Centre, St. Pierre, MB, eight days shy of his 85th birthday.

Gabriel is survived by his four children: Francois (Irene), René (Monique), Lise Boiteau (Marc) and Ronald (Doris); along with his 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Papa, Pépère, tu resteras dans notre cœur pour toujours! Gabby is now reunited with his wife Anita, who passed away in 2012. He is also survived by one brother, five sisters, many in-laws, nieces, nephews and numerous friends.

The family extends its heart felt thanks to the many friends and family who took the time to visit Gabby as well as the staff at Le Repos Jolys for their compassion and care.

“Happy Gabby” kept his humour to the last day. Papa, tu as toujours su comment nous faire rire. He will be greatly missed and will be remembered for his sense of humour and his dedication to the community.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gabriel’s memory to CNIB, the Canadian National Institute for the Blind. Donations can be done by phone 204-774-5421.

The funeral mass will be held Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., at the St. Malo Parish, St. Malo, MB.

Donations in memory of Gabriel may be made to the CNIB, 1080 Portage Ave, Winnipeg, MB R3G 3M3.
