Obituary

It is with broken hearts and extreme sadness that we announce the passing of our dearest fiancé, daughter, sister, niece and cousin.

Heather Lachnit passed away peacefully on the morning of her 30th birthday after battling stage 4 breast cancer since December 2016.

Heather was born to Ken and Rachel and was an older sister to her brother Craig. She grew up in Woodridge and always loved being home and enjoying country life.

Heather attended Arborgate School in La Broquerie and then it was off to Ste. Anne collegiate where she graduated in 2007.

Heather had an amazing work ethic. She started as a young teenager at the Woodridge Inn and enjoyed all her customers and co-workers.

After graduation she moved to Winnipeg and took courses at the University of Manitoba and got a job waitressing. After a year in Winnipeg she returned home and worked at Smith Neufeld Jodoin in Steinbach.

Heather then took a job in Winnipeg and then decided to go back to school. She took the hairdressing course at the Winnipeg Technical College where she received her diploma.

In December 2016, she got a job at Wine Sense but had to give it up as she found out she had stage 4 breast cancer. Treatments followed and she focused on her health. Feeling like everything was on track she applied at Tacium Vincent & Associates and was hired. She loved everything about her job.

As most people know Heather started her own promotion company called Purplehaze Entertainment. Between all her jobs she found time to do bookings, orderings and selling tickets. She loved that she had opportunity of giving local bands the chance to showcase their talent.

Heather is survived by her fiancé Evan Milejszo, her parents Ken and Rachel, brother Craig and his fiancé Brittany; along with her grandma Irene, uncles and aunts John and Connie Lachnit, Mario and Linda Boily and their children: Miguel and Reneé (Kyle), Brian and Debbie Poels, Tim Poels; cousin Brinte as well as Evan’s family Randall and Diane Trenholm, brother Julian Milgiszo along with his extended family.

Heather was predeceased by her grandparents Albert and Martha Poels, Denis LeBleu and uncle Barry Poels.

Cremation has taken place.

The memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.

A family burial will follow at a later date.

Rest in peace our dearest Heather.
