Obituary

Walter Schneider passed away peacefully at the age of 67, on Monday, April 15, 2019 at the Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, MB.

He is survived by his wife Rose, daughters Nadia & Sacha, three grandchildren, sister Rosemarie and niece Kim, and her family.

Walter was predeceased by his parents.

Walter was born in Germany in 1951 in Dorlar, Germany. He joined the German army, who sent him to Canada to train. While in Canada he met his wife whom he married in 1978. In 1979 Walter and Rose moved to Winnipeg to start their family. In 1990, they moved to Kleefeld and finally moved to Ste Anne in 2001. Walter owned his own heavy-duty mechanic business from 1994-1999 where he travelled southeastern Manitoba repairing machinery for many local farmers. Walter retired on the farm in Ste Anne where he enjoyed looking after the animals.

Guests are invited to attend a celebration of Walter’s life at their convenience on Saturday, April 27, 2019 between 1:00 and 4:00 pm at the Grace Mennonite Church, Steinbach, MB. Everyone is invited to share stories of Walter with the family over dainties and coffee.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Assiniboine Park Zoo under the name Walter Schneider.
