Dad it is with heavy hearts that we had to say goodbye to you this Easter. We know you left us way to soon but also know your body had told you it was time, and your cowboy ride was over.

Dad and moms journey started 50 years ago this year and collected a lifetime of memories. From their simple beginnings in Grunthal, dad was always a hard worker which lead to his career as the “cowboy” dad we knew growing up to dairy farming, beef farming, truck driving and a few jobs in between to finally covering the southeast in his little Piston Ring Car.

After farming Dad and Mom settled in Woodridge where they loved to spend time on their yard and “putting” down the bush trails on quad. His kids and grandchildren were very special to dad and he always kept a keen track of our happenings in life, but we all saw his true love was mom. Over the last 20 years the many trips to Black Lake or the Whiteshell filled their camper walls with pictures of fish caught and grandkids sitting around the meticulous made fire and picnic table full of food.

Dad and mom were together always other than the few trips he broke away with his sons for small hunting outings. As such, it was only fitting that mom and us kids were right at his side when he peacefully went to his home in the sky with Don Williams serenading in background, to once again enjoy his ride on “Big Red” until we can finally join him.

Dad you will be enormously missed but your smiling crusty demeanor will never be forgotten. Till we meet again…

The memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Steinbach, MB. No reception following the service. Ash interment to follow at a later date.
