Obituary

Marilyn Harms age 63, of Woodridge, MB., passed away following a lengthy illness on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at her residence.

She is survived by her beloved husband Dennis and their children Darcey (Andrea) and Jennifer (Simon), four granddaughters: Teagan, Hollie, Leah and Daphne; nine siblings: Cornie, Agatha Fuller (Brian), Peter, Margaret Kehler (Ron), Sally Mankey, Jake (Rose), Harv (Brenda), Myrna Statkewich (Merv) and Violet Harder (Ed).

Marilyn is predeceased by her parents Art & Agatha Wiens, her sisters-in-law Sara and Mary and her brother-in-law Ron Mankey.

Marilyn got married to Dennis in 1974 (45 years). She worked out of the home of and on throughout her life. Her employment out of the home was merchandising or as a baker. She loved to be outdoors gardening, walking or quading and when she was inside, she loved to bake. She loved to spend time with family and friends.

She was baptized in the Mitchell Fellowship Church and volunteered at the Woodridge Community Center.

Marilyn was a straight talker with a genuine heart and compassion for others. She was an excellent baker, had an extraordinary work ethic, was a natural and wonderful caregiver.

Her celebration of life will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB., with ash interment to follow at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Marilyn may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
