Obituary

Maurice Picklyk – Myroslaw Pichlyk, age 76 years, of Hadashville, Manitoba, passed away following a lengthy illness on Tuesday, February 25th, 2020 at Ste. Anne Hospital, Ste. Anne, Manitoba.

He is survived by his two daughters: Amanda (Daniel) and Sheila (James); stepson: Wayne; grandchild: Thomas; two step-grandchildren: Jennifer and Meghan; two brothers: Eugene (Elsie) and Robert (Shirley); two sisters: Diane and Eleanor (Bernie) and many nieces and nephews and dear friends.

Maurice was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth, parents Harry and Effie, one sister Olga and six brothers: Jarvis, Mike, Nick, John, Pete and William.

Maurice was born at the family homestead in Caliento/Vita to Harry and Effie and he was one of twelve siblings. He met and married his wife Elizabeth on September 20th, 1975 but tragically lost her in February 1990. He worked the majority of his life for Falcon Lake Provincial Parks as a plumber and retired in 2008 after putting in forty one years and forty one days.

He enjoyed watching the storm clouds rolling in, watching his Montreal Canadiens hockey games and his favorite old TV shows like Gunsmoke. He loved to show people pictures of his paintings he had done and going for coffee at Sophie’s to visit everyone.

The memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, Manitoba.

Burial will take place at a later date.
