Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Jacob B. Wiens on Monday, March 23, 2020 after a lengthy illness.

Jacob was predeceased by his parents, Benjamin and Elisabeth Wiens. As well as seven brothers and one sister.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Anna Friesen; his seven children, seven step children, one brother, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Jake was born and raised in Mexico, when he settled in Manitoba, he was employed with Penner Trailers and W.S. Welding until his retirement. Jake always enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping and gardening. Jake was a great family man; he would help anyone in need. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the doctors and nursing staff from the Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Vita District Hospital, and Home Care personnel for the care provided during Jake’s lengthy illness.

By request of the family, and due to the current circumstances, a family service will be held at 2:30 pm on Sunday, March 29, 2020 at Crossings Funeral Care. Friends are invited to join the family by viewing the service via Live Stream.

In lieu of flowers donation may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
