Obituary

After a lengthy illness, George reluctantly left behind his beloved wife Geraldine, after 70 years of marriage, on Monday, April 13, 2020.

He leaves to mourn, his children Georgina (Dennis), Kathy (Mel), David (Joy), Patricia (Mike) and seven grandchildren, Sheila, Jodie, Jeff, Thor, Christine, Robert, and Ken and nine great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents Louie & Elsie Mintenko, his six siblings and his grandson Richard.

George was born and raised in Shell Valley. He lived in Ontario and Manitoba and worked at many occupations. George instilled his hard working work ethic in all of this children and grandchildren.

George enjoyed traveling and golfing with his family and friends. He was a very strong willed man and cherished and fought for his beliefs and life. He had a big generous heart and showed his family what love meant. Rest in peace.

There will be a private family service. Flowers are gratefully declined. You may make a donation in his name to his church, St. George Orthodox Church.
