Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Eric Robert Schellenberg age 35 on Sunday, May 24, 2020 at the Bethesda Regional Health Centre.

Eric will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his partner Danielle Dupas, his parents Don and Linda Schellenberg, his brother David (Vanessa), his nephews Brandon and Tyler, as well as his many friends and extended family.

As a child Eric was an active member of the Scouts, which instilled many life skills and values. This led to a lifelong love of camping and the outdoors. He had a passion to help others, whenever he would see someone struggle, he was quick to assist, taking opportunity to share his knowledge and passion of the outdoors with others. Eric met the love of his life Danielle while geocaching. Together they shared this passion exploring Manitoba, while making many friends along the way. Eric was a cabinet sprayer for Springfield Woodworking, he loved his career, his coworkers were his family, he found great satisfaction in seeing his work brought to completion. Although his life was cut short, Eric lived every day to the fullest.

According to Eric’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be planned at a later date.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Bethesda Regional Health Centre and CancerCare, Manitoba for the care and compassion shown during Eric’s illness.
