Obituary

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Cameron (Cam) Barkman on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at 6:40 p.m., surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his daughter, Grace Barkman, stepdaughter, Nicole (Chad) Bambenek, and stepson Steven Wiebe, and grandchildren: Caden, Jasper, Mia and Atlas.

Cam is also survived by his beloved parents Elmer and Helen Barkman, brothers: Jonathan (Regon), Robert, and Micheal.

Cam was born on March 23, 1969 at Bethesda Hospital, in Steinbach. Shortly before Cam turned 5, he got the gift of a younger brother. Unbeknownst to him, Jon would later become his best friend.

Cam spent his school years in Steinbach. At the age of 12, he started his first job working for the dairy farm next door, milking before and after school. Cam loved his hobbies: summers were definitely spent camping and fishing with the family. As he grew up, fishing definitely remained a hobby for the summer but hunting became a fall hobby and ice fishing for the winter.

Last summer Cam, Grace, and Grandma took a road trip Niagara Falls and Marine Land and there was so much enjoyment had by all. Cam was already starting to plan his next adventure trip with Grace.

A public come & go viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.

The private funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow at Heritage Cemetery, Steinbach, MB.

A special thank you to: Dr. Curtis Krahn, Debbie Krahn from Palliative Care, the homecare workers and nurses who came in and assisted with aid, and then many visits he received from his Pastors.
