Obituary

It is with a broken heart we share the news of the passing of Sharon Jefkins, after a short battle with cancer.

Over these last few months Sharon carried herself with great courage and strength. Thank you to all who shared your love and support. It is clear that in her life’s journey, Sharon made her way into a great many hearts.

Left to mourn her passing is her partner, Steve Nieuwenburg, daughter Shelby Jefkins (Ken), adoring grandchildren Hayden and Ryleigh, brother Brian (Julie), sister Valerie, niece Rochelle, nephews Justin and Taylor.

Sharon was predeceased by her infant daughter Ashley, father Garry and mother Betty.

Sharon was at once proud yet humble, private yet welcoming, strong yet compassionate.

Thank you to all at Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Steinbach, for your compassionate and attentive care.

Cremation has taken place. Due to COVID restrictions, no service is planned at this time.

“Come in,” she said. “I’ll give ya shelter from the storm.”

Those we love don’t go away,
they walk beside us every day,
unseen, unheard, but always near,
still loved, still missed,
and still so very dear.
A cluster of beautiful memories,
sprayed with a million tears,
wishing you had been spared,
but for a few more years.
Our family chain once again is broken,
and nothing seems the same,
but as we are called one by one,
our chain will link again.
