Obituary

John Friesen, age 72, of Steinbach, Manitoba passed away peacefully on Monday, November 30, 2020.

Dad is survived by his children; Jack, Marina (Roger) and Joey (Rebecca). His grandchildren; Brandon, Tettianna, Ashton, Gabriella, and baby boy Friesen on the way. And great-granddaughter; Aubrey. His sisters; Hilda (Abe), Alvira (Peter), Agnes, Ellen (Bob), Marina, and brother Peter. Along with numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his three children; Jim, Raynold, and Markus. His parents; Peter and Maria. And brother in-law; Duane.

Dad was born in Paraguay on September 27, 1948 and moved his family to Canada March 1987. He settled in Steinbach, Manitoba. His love of trucking was his passion and worked as a trucker his whole life, until his retirement in February of 2020.

He enjoyed his soccer and often had that playing on the T.V. when visiting. He loved his grandchildren and spent the early years teasing them and attending their sporting events. He was always proud of their accomplishments. You could always find him with his cup of yerba, reminiscing of his days in Paraguay and the latest news from the Paraguay post.

A virtual, live stream funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2020, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a private family burial.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Envision Community living in honor of his two sons; Jim and Raynold.
