Obituary

Dad died, as he lived; quietly, on his own terms, with a struggle, with integrity, and in his last days in the comfort of the old family farmstead.

Born December 8, 1933 to parents Mike and Mary Ewonchuk, raised in the Ukrainian Catholic faith and rich in Ukrainian traditions.

He grew up on the farm his parents started, and shared the lessons of childhood with siblings Bunny, Jerry, Evelyn and Bob.

Dad was a beloved husband of 64 years to Pauline, father to Marianne and Ivan. Grandfather to Joseph, Michael and Kevin., great grandfather to Darius.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day – and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” ~ Timothy 4:7-8

The private livestreamed family service will be held on July 28th, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.

Interment at 3:30 p.m. with Deacon Leon Twerdun officiating at Rosa Holy Eucharist Cemetery.
