Obituary

Leaving us with broken hearts but rejoicing spirits, our Dad, crossed over to meet Jesus on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, after a valiant battle with cancer.

He joins his beloved son, Johnny, his parents: David and Agatha Hiebert; as well as many dear friends and family.

Dad struggled to leave the love of his life and soul mate of 66 years, Anne. Also forever missing him are his children: Dave (Audrey), Bill (Darlene), Helena, Ann, AJ (Rick), Grace (Doug), Faith, James and Tim.

He also leaves 25 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren who absolutely adored him.

He prayed for every child, grandchild, great-grandchild, nieces, nephews, and any other person in need, daily and by name. This was his mission during the 2 1/2 year battle with cancer.

Dad is also survived by three sisters: Jessie, Helen and Nettie; as well as his loved friend and “little brother” Henry (Ruth).

Dad genuinely loved everyone he met and judged no one. He was a man of immense integrity and love of God. He met Jesus in 1965 and strove to live his life in the service of his Lord and Master. He was a role model for all, his smiling face and mischievous grin filling any room he entered.

Oh how we will miss our Dad. We have lost our hero and heaven has gained an angel.

A come and go viewing will be held on Sunday, July 25, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.

A livestreamed private family funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 25, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.

Donations in memory of Bill may be made to the Low German Radio Ministry through the Christian Mennonite Conference.
