Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Ralph Thomas Evan Gowan, age 79, who passed peacefully with family by his side, on Saturday April 16, 2022.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife; Edith, siblings Ken (Peggy) Gowan, Mel (Sophie) Gowan, Ruth Tompkins, Terry Gowan, and Dave (Nancy) Gowan. As well as many children; Paul Gowan, Monique (Jim) Evans, Glen (Wendy) Gowan, Christine (Mark) Hillis, Perry (Lisa) McMillan, Lisa (Randy) Ossel, Leslie (Tonia) Campbell, Laura Campbell, Tara (Tom) L’Hirondelle, Lawrence (Michelle) Turick, and Robert (Sandra) Turick. Ralph also leaves to mourn numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Ralph was born and raised in the Dutton, Ontario area. He moved to Manitoba in 1981. He and Edith met in 1996, and together they followed their passion and farmed in Sprague, MB.

Edith and family would like to express a special thank you to the medical staff at Bethesda Regional Heath Centre for their care in Ralph’s final days.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Crossings Funeral Care, Steinbach, MB.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ralph’s memory to the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba.
