Obituary

It is with heavy hearts we announce the tragic passing of Ross Major at his home in Badger, Manitoba.

Left to remember him are his daughter Kriss (Ron), sons Paul (Jan), Mark (Cindy) and grandchildren Ian, Tyler, Gray, Kati Lynn and Madison.

He was predeceased by his parents, his only sister Bernice McKenzie, and his granddaughter Paula Major. He will also be missed by his friend Angela Harrison.

Ross was born in Guelph Ontario and graduated from the University of Guelph in Veterinary Medicine. He married Thelma Post in 1958, and together they ventured west, first to Kenora, Ontario and then to Springfield, Manitoba, where their three children grew up.

Ross purchased Anderson’s Animal Hospital in Winnipeg and practiced both large and small animal medicine for many years. He also worked in beef farming and production. He was involved in many other businesses of a wide variety over the years. Always one to keep busy, Ross enjoyed working until just a few years ago. Until just recently, Ross worked in Candle Lake, Saskatchewan where he made many good friends and enjoyed his time there before moving back to Manitoba.

For the last couple of years Dad moved back full time to Badger, Manitoba to his home in the woods. He enjoyed nature and the outdoors all of his life. He enjoyed feeding the birds and the deer, and gardening. He had a good sense of humor and always kept up with world events and maintained strong opinions about all things political.

Dad was a very private individual. As per Ross’ request, there will be no formal service.
