Obituary

Luella Marion Andres (nee Hamm) age 83, of Steinbach, Manitoba went to be with her Lord and Saviour on January 15, 2018, following a very brief illness. She was surrounded by family at the Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Mourning her loss are: her beloved husband Ben, five sons, five daughters, twenty-three grandchildren, and twenty-three great-grandchildren:

  • Son David (Lori) Andres, Matthew, Graeme (Jaqueline) Andres (Zoey, Roman); Daniel (Michelle) Andres (Finnegan)
  • Daughter Sharon (James) Fast, Benjamin (Karen) Fast
  • Daughter Eunice (Ken) McAllister, Tim (Katrina) McAllister (William, Walter); Sarah (Jeremy) Dyck; Adam McAllister; Luke (McKenzie) McAllister

  • And over 20 foster children, including Bradford (Cassandra) Bilodeau, and their children

She is also survived by three brothers and two sisters.

She was predeceased by her parents Jacob and Sarah Hamm and her brother Clarence Hamm, as well as a number of preborn grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Luella was born January 13, 1935 in Aberdeen, Saskatchewan. Upon confession of her faith in Jesus, she was baptised as a teenager. On June 17, 1956, she was married to Ben Andres. She was a persistent prayer warrior, and was able to offer unconditional love to each member of her large family. Based on the promises found in God’s word, we believe that she is now resting in the arms of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, the one who loves her best of all.

The funeral service for Luella Andres will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB, with a viewing to be held prior to the service.
