Johann Klassen

Obituary

Johann Klassen, aged 93 years, of Randolph, MB., previously of Paraguay, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 27, 2022, at Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Steinbach, MB.

He is survived by two sons, four daughters and their families, as well as four sisters, two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law.

He was predeceased by his first wife Maria (2003), second wife Dora (2015), one son in infancy, one sister, and five brothers.

Johann was baptized in March 1951, and married Maria Giesbrecht a few months later on July 15, in Colony Menno, Paraguay. Johann and Maria raised six children in Chaco before moving to Canada in 1971. They moved between Chaco and Manitoba several times before staying in Paraguay in 2003, when Maria passed away from Cancer.

Johann remarried six years later to Dora Toews, who passed away in 2015. A year later Johann moved back to Canada, living with his children, spending the last six years of his life in comfort and good company.

A livestreamed funeral service will be held on Monday, July 4, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB., with viewing one hour prior to the service.

Burial to follow at Randolph Cemetery, Randolph, MB.
