Obituary

Warren David Barkman was born to Bruce & Mary Reimer Barkman in Winnipeg, MB, on September 30, 1971, and passed away at the age of 51 years.

Warren was the third oldest child in a family of six children. Warren grew up and went to school at Riverside School in Whitemouth, and in his later years, he attended Willow Grove School, Beausejour, MB. He resided in his own home in Anola and attended church services at Anola Fellowship Chapel. He treasured his friends and family. He worked at a number of jobs: choring hogs at home, working at Golden Grain Inc., a welding shop at Arborg, MB, long-distance truck driving and numerous other jobs.

Warren had a quiet peaceful disposition.

In the fall of 2021, Warren suffered with covid.

In the last months of his life he resided in Winnipeg with his wife-to-be Myrna Reimer. Warren has been an active member of God Church of Word International Ministries Manitoba headed by Pastor Donald Castro.

Cooking maple syrup at his home in Anola meant a lot to him every spring.

In the early morning of January 11, 2023, he was taken to Grace Hospital in Winnipeg where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Left to cherish fond memories are his father Bruce Barkman of Beausejour: his fiancé Myrna Reimer of Winnipeg; his brothers: Glenn Barkman, Beausejour, MB; Sheldon & Justina Barkman, Waterville, NS; Trevor & Val Barkman, Blumenort, MB; Bevan & Mandy Barkman, Winnipeg, MB; brother-in-law Cameron Unruh and his wife Eva, Scott City, KS; also, many nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, cousins, and many friends.

He was predeceased by his sister Marcie and his mother Mary.

The livestreamed funeral service will be held Monday, January 30, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB., with interment at Blumenort Community Church Cemetery, following the reception.
