Obituary

It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and totally unexpected passing of Tricia (Patricia Leah) White on January 18, 2023 at Grace Hospital in Winnipeg at the age of 43 years.

She is survived by her partner, Josh Schweigert; her beloved dog and companion Mocha; her parents, Al White (Simonne Desrochers) of Ste. Anne and Angele Lord (John Hill) also of Ste. Anne; two sisters, Tara White of Prince George BC, Danielle White (John Frederick Cox) of Hampton, PEI and one brother Alain White of Steinbach MB; her in-laws Fred and Susan Schweigert of Inwood, MB and her very special sister and brother in-law Jen and Neil Normandeau of Burnaby, BC, her biological grandfather Mike Soloniuk, her maternal grandmother Eloise Lord and her very close and dear friends Erin Goleski, Leanne Landry, Joanne Nantel and Amanda Oakley. She is also survived by numerous aunts and uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces in the White, Lord and Soloniuk families too numerous to mention but know that she held you all in her heart.

She was predeceased by her biological mother, Karen White (nee Soloniuk) as well as her sister Susan White, her brother-in-law Chris Schweigert, her biological grandmother Iris Soloniuk (nee Foster) of Winnipeg, her grandparents Dru and Marlene White (nee Dally) of Sacramento CA, her grandfather Jean-Leon Lord of La Broquerie MB and other aunts and uncles, also too numerous to mention.

Tricia was born in Winnipeg and moved to the La Broquerie/Marchand area at a young age where she attended Arborgate School in La Broquerie and later Ste. Anne High School in Ste. Anne MB where she graduated. She moved to Winnipeg shortly after graduation and started her search for a meaningful career by working in different fields of work all the while attending night and weekend classes at Red River College to obtain her diploma in Business Administration. She spent some time at KFC/Taco Bell, Wawanesa Insurance, a small private accounting firm and then AAOW Anaesthesia Medical Corporation. It’s during this time that she also made the decision to switch her attention from Business Administration to accounting and enrolled with Athabasca University and work on obtaining her accreditation as a Chartered Accountant. And about six years ago, she finally found her niche with the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority working out of Grace Hospital, in Winnipeg. She quickly moved up the ladder there and was promoted to Senior Financial Analyst just last year. She was a very devoted employee and absolutely loved her work and had a lot of respect for her co-workers and their mission – to improve our health care system in whatever way they can.

About 10 years ago, she met the love of her life, Josh and his furry friend Tego whom Trish fell in love with immediately. As Josh often worked away from home, Tego became her faithful companion and she became passionate about learning to care and train him until his passing a few years ago and her beloved Mocha, whom she rescued almost two years ago now. She always joked the training saved her lots of money on shoes.

Whenever she was able to tear herself away from work, she enjoyed travelling to visit family and friends. Over the years, she travelled a few times to Gatineau QC (Danielle, Angele, Uncle Yves and Auntie Jacqueline and cousins) to Vancouver (Jen and Neil) to Prince Edward Island (Danielle and John) to Maui with Jen and Neil, the Cabin at Ryan’s Island as well as Prince George to visit her twin sister Tara and her nephew Cameron and niece Hailey. She loved exploring new places, loved being in nature especially with Josh and the dogs and reading brought her much enjoyment and relaxation.

Tricia left us far too early in life, and totally unexpectedly after suffering a brain aneurysm. Her loving presence, her unconditional love for all of her loved ones, her relatives and friends, will be sorely missed. A life well lived, a heart well loved, a soul forever missed – until we meet again.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 3rd at 2:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, located at 4000 Portage Ave. Winnipeg.
