Nellie Wohlgemuth (nee Wiebe)

Obituary

Our mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister and friend went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 24, 2023.

Nellie was born in Greenland, Manitoba, on May 12, 1925. She grew up in Greenland on the farm and helped to take care of her younger siblings at home.

She worked as an LPN at St. Boniface Sanatorium, Morris General Hospital, and Erikson Hospital before marrying our dad, Ben Wohlgemuth, on October 8, 1950.

She leaves to mourn her family: daughter Adele (Paul), Jonathan, Richard (Zoe), Marley and Willow; Rebecca; daughter Lorraine (Walter); son Roger (Marina), Brandon (Holly), Ashton (Hannah); son Bert, Curtis, Kirsten, Colin (Jenny), Nikolis, Zakery, Alex, Devon, Greyson, Rachel, Crystal, Basia; daughter Marilyn (Michael), Lisa, Isabella, Cassidy, and Mackenzie; daughter Christy (Joe), James, Samantha, Patrick and Ahri; sisters Irma (Leonard) and Lottie (Eugene); Priscilla (Sean), Phoenix, Titan, Gabby; son-in-law Gord Reimer, Amy (Brad), Mackinley and Elijah; brother Peter (Norma); sister-in-law Linda; brother-in-law Melvin (Helena); sister-in-law Marion.

She was predeceased by our dad Ben, grandson Dustin, two daughters-in-law Sharon and Lori, her parents and numerous siblings. Mom was known for her many skills; cooking and baking, seamstress, drywall finisher, builder, gardener, etc.

She loved her pets. She had adopted numerous dogs and cats that brought her much joy.

She loved her nephews and nieces. She was a special auntie to Jake and Viola’s children.

Thank you to Pat and Cammie and the staff at Maplewood Manor for the top notch care for mom.

She will be missed.

The livestreamed funeral service for Nellie Wohlgemuth will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.
