Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. Peter Falk, 88 of Pansy MB passed away peacefully, at Bethesda Regional Health Center, Wednesday, March 22, 2023.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years; Susan and their three children; Robert (Melody) Falk Jerry (Cindy) Falk Naomi (James) Pickett, seven grandchildren; Jerica (Daniel) Byron, Megan (Riley) Jared (Jasper) Brittany, Janessa(Taylor) Samantha, seven great grandchildren, one sister; Tina Falk and one sister-in-law; Frieda Falk.

He was predeceased by his parents George and Katherine Falk, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

Peter Falk was born January 23, 1935, to George P & Katherine Falk in Altona, MB. At the age of 11, the family moved to Pansy. In 1956 Dad was baptized upon the confession of his faith and on July 14th, 1957, Dad married the love of his life, Susan Falk (nee) Wiebe, they were blessed with 65 years together. For 10 years they lived in Winnipeg and during that time he worked for York Tire. In 1967, mom and dad moved to Pansy and had their little hobby farm and raised their 3 children. Dad worked for Medolands in Grunthal, from 1967-2000. He drove the milk truck for many years and then held various other positions at Medolands. His last position, being the milk sampler, until his retirement in October 2000. Mom and Dad were very fortunate to be able to do lots of traveling and together as a family there were lots of camping trips and family vacations, and later Mom & Dad took numerous road trips to Ottawa to visit their daughter and her family.

Our Dad was a highly respected man with a deep relationship with his Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ. His integrity and Godly character were evident to all those who knew him. To his family he was a rock, a mentor, and a wealth of bible knowledge. At any given time you would find his bible on the kitchen table.

Our dad was a very gifted bass singer and loved music. He and mom passed on that love of music to us kids, and for many years, we sang in several provinces and in the United States sharing the gospel with music, we were known as “The Falk Family Singers.”

Dad was also known for his witty sense of humour. He was very quick with his one liners and loved to play jokes on people. Dad also had a deep love for nature and wood working. He was a jack of all trades. From construction to mechanics, he knew how to fix almost everything.

In the fall of 2021 dad was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis of the lungs, slowly as oxygen was depleted so did the strong energetic man that we knew, he was not able to do the normal things in life that he loved.

We share in the joy and peace that he is with his Heavenly Father, but the hole he has left in our hearts will forever remain. You will be missed! Until we see you again.

A livestreamed funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at the Bothwell Christian Fellowship Church, with viewing one hour prior to the service. A private family Interment will take place in the Grunthal community cemetery.
