Obituary

We are saddened to announce that our dear Mom and Memère passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 4th, 2023.

Mom will be dearly missed by her four children Reginald, Patricia (Warren), Arcel, Michelle (Steve); four grandchildren Daniel (Amy), Cheryl (Charles), Colleen (Doug) and Stephanie; six great-grandchildren, Norah, Rayah, Hudson, Milu, Yanik and Mikael; her dear youngest brother Levi; three sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Fortunat, four brothers and four sisters, as well as brothers and sisters-in-law.

Mom was the oldest of 10 children, therefore she had a big hand in helping to raise her siblings. She worked hard all her life until her retirement at the age of 65. Life was sometimes challenging; however, never a complaint did she have. Mom had a very generous heart for everyone, enjoyed having company and always made them feel welcome with a dessert. Baking was certainly one of her specialties, having learned at the hand of her dear maman. She was well known for her “sucre à crème”.

She was a humble and religious person, not a day went by without her rosary in hand.

Mom’s two greatest loves in life were her family and her sewing machine. She was delighted when the grandchildren came along and she enjoyed playing cards with them. She was known in Ste. Anne for her sewing skills. She could sure turn out works of art on that machine. To her, it was not a chore but a passion.

Though we will miss her so, we are left with so many wonderful memories.

The family will always be so grateful to the Villa Youville for the excellent care they gave our Mom over the last four years. Special thanks to Soeur Rioux and nurse Lizanne.

Funeral mass will be held on Friday, June 23rd, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ste. Anne Catholic Church, 162 Centrale Avenue, Ste. Anne, Manitoba.
