Obituary

Helen Siemens, nee Willms, passed away peacefully at her home in Winnipeg, Manitoba, following a joyous visit with her beloved family. Her journey began in Ukraine, where she was born, later to emigrate to Watrous, Saskatchewan. Another move led the family to Steinbach, accompanied by her sisters Edith and Mary, along with her parents Mariechen and Griesh.

Immersed in a fulfilling teaching career, Helen’s passion for education became the wellspring for a lifetime dedicated to imparting her appreciation for music, art, and the written word. In 1959, she married John Siemens, and they had three wonderful daughters: Dorothy (Justin), Christine (Ray), and Tamara (Lee). Alongside them, her legacy extended to her cherished grandchildren, Liam and Isabelle.

Our mother was an exceptional woman whose unwavering faith and boundless love touched the lives of many. Her legacy of kindness and her commitment to living a life centered around God’s teachings will forever inspire us.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.

In fond memory of Helen Siemens, a life illuminated by love, learning, and family, may her spirit live on in the hearts she touched.
