Obituary

On the evening of Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at St Boniface Hospital, Peter passed away unexpectedly following a brief illness at the age of 31.

Peter is survived by his loving parents Susan and Roman, sisters Jennifer Farooq (Umar) and Yvonne Karalash (Steven), brother Robert (Stephanie), five nephews, three nieces and one to be announced in July.

Peter was predeceased by Baba Mary and Gido John.

He was passionate about his work and for the last five years Peter has worked as a talented carpenter, taking pride in his projects, one of which included building a spectacular deck at Jennifer’s. Every tool Peter owned and used had to be Dewalt yellow. Peter’s greatest passions were his music and his animals. He loved to go to heavy metal rock concerts with Jennifer, always on the floor close to the stage so he could catch whatever the bands would toss out to the crowd. If he couldn’t get close enough he would ‘crowd surf’ to the front. He loved his dog, Lou, who he rescued from a northern reserve while working there and his two cats, Steve and Molly.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, April 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach, with internment at Grunthal cemetery.

A special thank you to the doctors and nursing staff who worked so hard, with loving care and support, to keep Peter with us. God had other plans for him, he will be missed. Thank you to friends, family and loved ones for all your thoughts and prayers, kind words of love and encouragement and outpouring of generosity.
