Obituary

Don passed away peacefully on Monday, March 2, 2026, at the age of 77, after a brief illness.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Patricia, daughters Tracy (Ed), Carrie (Jason) and son Chris (Kristi-Rae). Grandchildren Jeremy, Alanna (Nic) Jayme & Rayne. Great-grandbabies Liam, Roman and Lydia. Brother Randy (Rhonda) and their daughter Angel (Terrance) as well as many cousins and Pat’s family.

Don was born on May 20, 1948, in Winnipeg, MB., to Charlie & Inez Hayden. He grew up in Grande Pointe, MB., but spent many summers with his grandparents in Menisino, MB.

The memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.

The family would like to thank the staff at HSC Transplant Wellness Centre, Bethesda Regional Health Centre, and HSC MICU for their exceptional care and support throughout Don’s transplant journey. We would also like to express our gratitude to his donor and their family for giving us 14 more years with him.

Love and like you dad, rest easy now.
