Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved daughter, mother, nana, sister, and wife Lynell Janyce Helen Broesky on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was born on November 7, 1972, in Steinbach, Manitoba.

Lynell is survived by her husband Keith Jewell, her parents Martin and Janyce Broesky, her sons Kyle Desjardins (wife Jezra) and Ryan Desjardins, her step-daughter Carley Jewell (partner Madi), her beautiful granddaughter Fallon Desjardins, her brothers Lynden Broesky (wife Laurie) and Leigh Broesky, and many nieces and nephews.

Lynell grew up in Steinbach and graduated high school at Steinbach Regional Secondary School. As a teenager she worked at McDonald’s. From there, she worked at Shopper’s Drug Mart for 7 years. After taking a few years to be a full-time Mom, she worked 4 years at Steinbach Christian Preschool. In 2003, Lynell started a successful catering business Nel’s Catering. She enjoyed cooking meals for schools, banquets, and weddings for 10 years. She then worked 5 years as a legal assistant. In 2019, Lynell achieved her dream career with the Winnipeg Police Service.

As a teenager she attended the GLOW Youth Group and gave her life to Christ. She was baptized in April of 1991.

In her pastime, you could find her cheering on the Minnesota Vikings, playing baseball, and in recent years, golfing. Lynell enjoyed hobbies such as crocheting, cross stitching, and collecting Mickey Mouse items and snowmen. She loved spending time with her son’s dog Floyd. One of her most cherished moments was becoming Nana to Fallon. We will remember most her bubbly personality, always smiling, competitive nature, and her desire to help others.

We would like to express our gratitude to the first responders and their efforts. We would also like to say thank you to our family and friends for all the love, support, and prayers we have received.

Lynell, we all love and miss you very much.

The memorial service will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.
