Bob was employed with the City of Winnipeg for 42 years. Bob started cutting grass at Blumberg golf course & continued with Public Works (Parks) to retire as a Foreman 3.
In 2003 we purchased 52 acres with an old house in South Junction. We spent weekends upgrading our house & constructing out buildings. We created a lovely property “Lazy Jzzz” or “The Ranch” leaving Winnipeg retiring in 2012.
Bob previously had a cabin & admitted he had only traveled to Minneapolis. He soon discovered he shared the love of travel visiting Canada. 49 States in the US, Mexico. Caribbean, South America, UK, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, New Zealand & Greenland.
In 2015 Bob underwent open heart surgery. It was then that Bob discovered he also had Prostate cancer & his battle began.
As his health declined Bob loved spending his days watching YouTube videos of things that his body would no longer let him do. He would sit in his chair enjoying his vantage point to oversee all the happenings in the house keeping an eye on things.
Bob was a kind man with a heart of gold. If asked we would do our best to attend events to support the grandchildren.
Bob had the gift of the gab, was playful & loved to tease. You could see it coming by the twinkle in his eyes.
We would like to thank Nicole, Scott, Denis, Darlene & Dwayne for all your kindness, help & support. East Borderland Primary Healthcare Center & Steinbach Cancer Care for your care & compassion.
You are in a better place with no more pain & will be sadly missed & never forgotten.
A Family gathering will take place at Elmwood Cemetery at a later date.
