Obituary

Tina Friesen, aged 96, of Grunthal, Manitoba, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Steinbach, MB.

She is survived by her daughter Dianne (Danny), son Pete (Audrey), one daughter-in-law Rose, one brother (Ike), 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and one sister-in-law.

Tina is predeceased by her parents William & Suzanna, first husband Ed, second husband Ike, two daughters, Susanna and Marge, son Edward, son-in-law John Harder, and one granddaughter in infancy.

Tina was born on November 24, 1929, to William & Suzanna Schellenberg. Tina was married in 1947. Tina will be missed and always loved by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as many relatives and friends.

Tina grew up in Southern Manitoba and lastly in Grunthal, MB. She worked hard on the farm and worked at the Menno Home. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, trying new crafts, and loved to travel (Arizona, Hawaii, Florida, Alaska, and across Canada). She enjoyed fishing & camping and also playing cards with family and friends.

The funeral service for Tina will be held Monday, May 25, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.

If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Tina may be made to Alzheimer’s Association of Manitoba.
