Charlotte Ann Reimer, age 96, of Steinbach, Manitoba, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026 in Steinbach, Manitoba.
She was predeceased by her three older siblings and her beloved husband, Wes, in 2011.
Charlotte was born on January 27, 1930, to Robert and Elizabeth Marshall in Strongfield, Saskatchewan. She spent her formative years there, completing her high school education and developing a love for track and field, in which she excelled. At the age of 13, she joined the United Church of Canada.
Charlotte completed her training as a laboratory technician in Regina, Saskatchewan, and went on to work for several years at the hospital in Milden, Saskatchewan. From 1951 to 1953, she lived in the United States, working and spending time with her brother and his family in Wisconsin. Due to family illness, she returned to Canada and was employed with the National Research Council in Saskatoon until her marriage to Wesley Klaus Reimer in 1959.
After their marriage, Wes and Charlotte moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba, where they lived for five years and welcomed their daughters, Colleen and Allison. In 1964, the family relocated to Steinbach, Manitoba, where they opened Reimer Pharmacy Ltd. Charlotte later opened a card and gift shop in Clearspring Village Shopping Centre, which she operated until its sale to Hallmark Cards in 1985.
Charlotte was involved with the United Church in Steinbach, singing in the choir for many years and occasionally assisting with organ playing. She loved starting her days early, often enjoying a round of golf, a long walk or a bicycle ride. Charlotte treasured time spent with family and friends at their cottage at Brereton Lake and later Falcon Lake. She also cherished her winters in California later on in life, where she visited her daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Colleen (Tim) Harmon and Allison (Joe) Nebel, and her grandchildren, Sage, Nicholas, and Ava.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Silver Linings in Steinbach for their compassionate care, as well as Dr. Janz for his dedicated support.
As per Charlotte’s wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. A private graveside service will take place with family.
